My favorite sentence: Academic writing is completely stilted, and from what I’ve seen, mandates the superfluous use of jargon and academicese to befuddle the gist out of something that could have said quite clearly. You, too, can have garden gnome jammies, but you might have to wait for the winter inventory. As to the Austrian husband, you can't get those at Target, and like any European product, they're expensive, hard to get parts for, and you have to pay some mechanic with an accent a fortune just for standard maint. work.
